129 Years in business
R.S. Gamble (1998) Limited traces its history to Gamble & Son Limited, which Robert Samuel Gamble set up in Jamaica in 1897 as a ship agency and commission merchant. In its early years it acted for vessels bunkering at the Port Royal coaling station and ran one of Kingston's old finger piers. Today it works from Second Street, Newport West, as ship agent and marine insurance claims settling agent, representing insurers including the Swedish Club, W.K. Webster and the United States Salvage Association, and it holds a Lloyd's Agency appointment.
